I’m an artist for goodness’ sake, how should I know how to write a blog?
Well, the answer to that is “I don’t” but I know I have to do it if I am to sell my art online, so these series of blogs will see me on a voyage of discovery in attempting to understand the business aspect of art. How to sell my art online.
For those of you that haven’t see it elsewhere on this website, my name is Brenda and I am astonished and pleased to be able to say that I have been fortunate to have sold quite a bit of my work mainly to and through Australian businesses that have connections with the subject matter of my work (I’m still waiting for the call from some Italian company that needs me to show my work to them prior to them buying, in situ). And there is the crux of the problem. How on earth would any Italian company – or American, British, French etc – even know of my existence without being directed to my website to find out?
So, how to direct them? How to direct you?
This blog will be my marketing tool, to inform, to assist, to guide, to teach what I know, to help you – the artist – to do the same thing and get noticed. I shall learn as I teach and hopefully you too will benefit from the inevitable stuff ups as well as successes.
You won’t find articles on how to paint nor any technical stuff just solid business-related articles which are important for you.
My husband, Adrian, is compiling a book about the history of the old mining town of Gwalia in the North East Goldfields in Western Australia which will include some of my paintings (he better had!) and we both sell art-related products here in Australia and through our online store www.steadfast61.com. I hope you check us out and will come back to read more as we stumble through this writing stuff together.

Brenda what a wonderful drawing of your local church, just had to let you know that it now is my screen saver. Cheers from Leeds.
Thank you Dale, your feedback is very much appreciated.
